Identity Construction

Project Type :

2024, Graphic Design

Identity Construction is a series of poster which visually extends the themes of “Identity Construction,” a poem that explores the cyclical process of self-reinvention—building, demolishing, examining, and reconstructing one’s identity in response to shifting surroundings. Drawing from psychogeography and a personal history rooted in construction, the series maps the urban landscapes of Manhattan, Berlin, and Taichung—three cities that reflect both structural and psychological transformation.

Using the aesthetics of industrial signage, construction materials, and urban debris, the posters juxtapose typography and imagery to reflect the fluidity between built environments and personal evolution. Each piece deconstructs the concept of place, framing neighborhoods as both geographic and psychological spaces—sites of self-reinvention, liminality, and transient belonging.

“Identity Construction”

In between stages of practicing adulthood
comes my urges to site in new surroundings
to be constructed as a different person only to tear it down and start new again.

build
demolish
examine
deconstruct
reconstruct

It must be my adolescent audacity in gambling the reality.

It must be the adrenaline from existing in liminality.

It must be the faith cultivated under uncertain fates.
