"Ritual 2021" is a 3D animated film unveiling a ritual most of us unwittingly and almost unconsciously partake in—the obsessive use of mobile devices and social media. It serves as both a critique and a portrayal of the pervasive influence of technology from early childhood, progressively infiltrating the lives of newer generations. The video illustrates the physical and mental distortions stemming from the constant reliance on information presented through screens—a contemporary form of worship detached from reality. Throughout the animation, recurring visual motifs of spheres and circles symbolize a seemingly inescapable and formulaic habit, echoing the familiar imagery of power buttons, home buttons, and profile picture frames found on our devices. In its simulative nature, the 3D animation acts as a visual commentary amidst its own contribution to representing multiple layers of reality.
